Finance a TYMCO DST-6 dustless regenerative-air sweeper. New or used, challenged credit reviewed, statement-based review below roughly $400k, funding paced to the completed file.
Dustless sweeping is a regulatory requirement in some jurisdictions and a practical necessity in others. The TYMCO DST-6 (Dustless System Technology) is TYMCO's engineered response to air quality mandates that require zero dust emissions during sweeping operations. The machine uses a containment system at the pickup head that captures and filters dust before it reaches the exhaust point, which means the outgoing air stream from the machine is substantially cleaner than what a standard regen-air or mechanical broom machine produces. On construction sites near sensitive receptors, in urban canyons with poor dispersion, or on routes governed by a SCAQMD or equivalent permit, the DST-6 is often the only machine that meets the requirement.
The DST-6 is built on TYMCO's full-size sweeper chassis with a hopper size comparable to the standard 600. The dustless system adds a filter stage between the return air path and the hopper, capturing sub-micron particulate before it can escape into the atmosphere. That addition does add maintenance: the filter system requires periodic cleaning and eventual replacement, and operators who skip filter maintenance see pickup performance degrade before they see visible symptoms. Budget for the PM on the filter system the same way you budget for gutter brooms, and the machine performs consistently.
We finance TYMCO DST-6 machines from $50,000, new or used. TYMCO financing at our desk includes the DST-6. Application-only to $400,000, bank statements, decisions fast.
The Dustless System Technology on the DST-6 works by intercepting the return air stream before it returns to the fan inlet. Standard regen-air machines recirculate the air column without filtering out entrained fine dust, so while the heavy debris drops into the hopper, very fine particulate can remain suspended in the recirculating air and eventually escape at the hopper seal or exhaust point. The DST-6's filter system intercepts that suspended particulate and contains it in the hopper, preventing escape.
This makes the DST-6 relevant for PM-10 certified sweeping applications where certified fine-particle capture is not just an operational preference but a condition of the operator's permit or contract. Municipalities in non-attainment air quality zones frequently specify dustless or PM-10 certified equipment in their sweeping contracts, and the DST-6 is one of the recognized platforms that satisfies those specifications.
On the maintenance side, operators need to track filter condition on the DST-6 more actively than on a standard 600. Most experienced DST-6 operators develop a route-based filter cleaning schedule rather than a calendar-based one, since debris load varies significantly by route. A filter that fills quickly on a high-dust construction site cleanup route would last considerably longer on a light litter residential route.
Used DST-6 machines should be evaluated with particular attention to filter system condition and whether the machine has been operated with proper filter maintenance. A DST-6 that has been run without consistent filter service may have hopper contamination or fan wear that a standard 600 inspection would not catch. Ask specifically about filter service history when inspecting a used DST-6.
Stormwater management districts operating under NPDES stormwater permits that require documented best management practices for streets sweeping often specify PM-10 certified or dustless equipment. The DST-6's compliance pedigree makes it a direct fit for those contracts without the risk of a regulatory challenge on the equipment specification.
Construction sites near residential areas, schools, or healthcare facilities are increasingly subject to dust control conditions in their grading and demolition permits. A sweeping contractor holding a post-grading dust control contract at one of those sites needs equipment that satisfies the dust emission condition, and the DST-6 does. Construction cleanup contractors who invest in a DST-6 can bid dust-sensitive contracts that competitors with standard equipment cannot legally service.
Urban corridor sweeping programs in cities with active air quality programs run by SCAQMDs or state DEQs in non-attainment zones regularly specify dustless or PM-10 certified equipment. The municipalities that write those programs know the DST-6 by name and by certification number. Having one in the fleet opens the bidding pool significantly in those regions.
New DST-6 machines carry a premium over a standard TYMCO 600 due to the dustless filter system. Pricing typically runs $280,000 to $350,000 for a new unit, depending on configuration and dealer. That range is application-only for most buyers. We do not require financial statements for deals in that range when the bank statements and credit profile support the payment.
Terms on a new DST-6 run four to seven years depending on the borrower's preference and the lender's appetite. A five-year term on a $300,000 machine creates a manageable monthly payment for most established sweeping operations. A seven-year term reduces the monthly further but increases total interest paid. We show the comparison in the quote so the choice is clear rather than assumed.
TRAC leases work well on the DST-6 for operators who want to refresh their dustless certification-capable equipment on a predictable cycle. The TRAC lease sets a residual at the start, keeps payments lower than a straight loan, and gives you a purchase option or exit at the end of the term. Municipalities and large private operators who plan fleet refreshes on a defined schedule often prefer this approach.
Operators who own a DST-6 outright and need capital for fleet expansion or contract startup costs can access that equity through a sweeper refinance or sale-leaseback. DST-6 machines in good condition with documented compliance history hold value better than most sweeper models in their age cohort because the demand from compliance-driven buyers is consistent.
Dustless, compliant, TYMCO-built. We finance the DST-6 the same way we finance every machine in the TYMCO line: application, three months of statements, a fast decision, and funding inside two weeks. challenged credit can still be reviewed. The TYMCO 210 parking-lot sweeper is worth considering if your operation also includes parking lot accounts where a full-size machine is unnecessary.
Equipment questions
Clear answers before the equipment file moves to review.
TYMCO has pursued PM-10 and dustless certification testing for DST-equipped machines. Specific listing status under Rule 1186 or equivalent state programs changes as certifications are renewed. Verify current listing status with TYMCO or your regional regulatory agency before purchasing for a specific compliance purpose.
Filter service intervals depend heavily on debris load. On high-dust construction routes, cleaning may be needed every route or every few routes. On light litter residential routes, intervals are much longer. Most operators develop a route-specific schedule based on experience with their particular accounts. Filter replacement is less frequent than cleaning and depends on filter condition over time.
The DST-6 can run standard sweeping routes. The filter system is always in place; you do not remove it for non-compliance routes. The additional maintenance of the filter system does add operating cost compared to a standard 600, so operators who run mostly non-compliance routes may find the cost premium of the DST-6 unjustified. The machine earns its premium where the dustless requirement applies.
Yes. We can take the application and structure the deal based on a dealer purchase order or sales agreement, closing funding when the machine is ready for delivery. This approach is common for new machine orders with longer delivery timelines.
The dust containment system adds components not present on the standard 600. TYMCO dealers who service the 600 are generally equipped to service the DST-6 as well, but the specific filter components are unique to the dustless platform. Parts availability for filter components has historically been good through TYMCO's dealer network.
